Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday emphasized deeper inter-state collaboration with Uttar Pradesh, stating that both states will “write a new story of progress together,” during his visit to Kashi Vishwanath Temple under the Madhya Pradesh–Uttar Pradesh Cooperation Conference.During his visit to Varanasi on March 31, Yadav offered prayers for the prosperity of both states and the nation. He was received by Uttar Pradesh ministers Nand Gopal Gupta, Rakesh Sachan, and Girish Yadav.
The Chief Minister also reviewed infrastructure and crowd management at the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, praising the transformation of religious cities under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said similar arrangements would be adopted in Madhya Pradesh, especially during Simhastha.Expanding on cooperation, Yadav highlighted growing alignment between the two states in sectors such as religious tourism, MSMEs, and investment. A key focus of the conference remained economic collaboration, with both sides discussing ways to boost job creation, promote local products under the ODOP initiative, and strengthen branding of traditional industries like Chanderi and Maheshwari textiles.

Underscoring the investment potential, Yadav said Madhya Pradesh offers “limitless opportunities,” with exports already crossing Rs70,000 crore. He also pointed to improved policy support, infrastructure expansion, and incentives aimed at attracting businesses and boosting industrial growth.The conference also saw agreements to deepen institutional ties, including collaboration between temple trusts and joint promotion of local industries. Large-scale projects such as the Ken-Betwa river linking initiative and a proposed solar power project further reflect the push for shared development.
Praising Uttar Pradesh’s development model under Yogi Adityanath, Yadav noted improvements in governance and economic expansion. He reiterated that this is “not a time for competition, but cooperation,” stressing that joint efforts would help both states accelerate growth and improve living standards.The meet also highlighted the cultural and economic synergy between the two states, with exhibitions of traditional crafts and discussions on tourism management offering a roadmap for future collaboration.
