Kishore-Asha,,Kalyanji-Anandji, Rajinder Krishan, Hema’s journey is also full of thorns, while leading to her way to the top.
 
She was lucky to get break at important intervals and never looked back. 
We come to know from her biography that she got a chance in ‘Sapno Ka Saudagar’ opposite Raj Kapoor, almost twice her age in 1968 and she got noticed instantly. 
 
She was a thorough professional and hardly had any issues with her male actors. 
 
So much so that she paired with Rajesh Khanna in 15 films, an actor who was known to act predominantly, 10 of which were superhits. 
 
She started pairing with Dharmendra from ‘Sharafat’ from 1970 and they went on to act in record 33 films.
 
She was comfortable in acting with all actors so much so that Sanjeev Kumar and Jeetendra even proposed to her but with a will to act continuously she refused. 
 
Her mother played a greater role in supervising her career. 
 
She hails from Tamil Nadu and her father was a senior officer in Railways. 
 
 
Great lady, still active at the age of 74. Now continuing as MP for the third time from Mathura Lok Sabha constituency.. Hats off to her !!.
