Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Govind Karjol's son Gopal Karjol has been airlifted from Bengaluru to Hyderabad after he tested positive for Covid-19 and spent 24 days on ventilator support.Eight family members of Govind Karjol's family have tested positive for coronavirus after several ministers were infected during the recently held assembly session in the state.In a long Twitter post, Karjol explained his inability to take up a long journey to physically monitor the flood situation in Bagalkote and Kalburgi. Both districts have been affected by floods.Karjol is an MLA from Mudhol in Bagalkote and is district in charge minister of Bagalkote and Kalaburagi. 43-year-old Dr Gopal Karjol is Govind Karjol's eldest son and had also contested elections in 2018 from the Nagathan constituency but lost.The deputy chief minister has indicted that if Gopal's condition does not improve, he may have to undergo a lung transplant.
