The historic city of Khajuraho turned into a vibrant sea of saffron, white, and green on Thursday as a massive rally marked the beginning of celebrations for the upcoming 79th Independence Day. The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ rally, which commenced from the Western Temple Group premises, witnessed overwhelming participation from residents, school students, and visitors from across India and abroad.
District Collector Parth Jaiswal, Superintendent of Police Agam Jain, Rajnagar MLA Arvind Pataria, City Council President Arun alias Pappu Awasthi, Municipal Corporation CMO Basant Chaturvedi, and other senior officials led the rally, which resonated with patriotic fervour. Every street, market, and corner of Khajuraho was adorned with the colours of the tricolour, creating a festive and unifying atmosphere.Students from local schools marched with flags in hand, while the sky was dotted with colourful balloons in the hues of the national flag, symbolising the spirit of freedom. Slogans of patriotism echoed through the city, filling the air with enthusiasm ahead of Independence Day.
According to information ,the Ministry of Culture has announced that this year’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign will run from August 2 to 15, urging citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes. In addition to promoting patriotism, the initiative will also carry a strong message of cleanliness under the theme “Cleanliness is Service.”Now in its fourth year, the campaign is being organised as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations, which aim to encourage every household to display the tricolour as a mark of respect for India’s independence. This year’s programme will be observed in three phases – August 2 to 8, August 9 to 12, and August 13 to 15 – with events including rallies, community activities, and awareness drives about the significance of the national flag.From August 10 to 14, the Tiranga March will be organised across various local units to spread the message of unity, honour the armed forces, and commemorate key moments in India’s history. The initiative continues to inspire millions to connect with the country’s freedom struggle and uphold the values for which it stands.
