The ruling LDF, led by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi VIjayan, on Thursday held a protest in New Delhi against the alleged neglect by the Centre towards the southern state in financial matters.The chief minister, LDF MPs, MLAs and senior Left front leaders, including CPI general secretary D Raja and CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, marched to the Jantar Mantar from the Kerala House in the heart of New Delhi, braving the cold winter morning.Addressing the protestors at Jantar Mantar, CM Vijayan asserted that the fight will strive to maintain balance in Centre-State relations.

The Left front leaders marched holding a banner and placards against the Centre's alleged neglect and economic policies which have pushed Kerala into financial distress.The legislators were seen raising slogans against the central government and holding banner that read "Fight to protect Federalism". Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann also joined the protest at Jantar Mantar.
The DMK MPs stage protest in front of the Gandhi statue in Parliament premises over financial neglect faced by Tamil Nadu.Congress MP Manickam Tagore says, "Tamil Nadu has faced 2 cyclones recently, due to which livelihood and infrastructure of 6 districts were lost... We had raised this issue in Parliament that we need Rs 67000 crores for relief and rehabilitation. The central government is not ready to sanction any money and this discrimination against Tamil Nadu must stop..."

Union Minister L Murugan says, "DMK always plays the blame game. In the last 10 years, PM Modi has issued Rs 10 lakh crores for infrastructure development and social welfare schemes in Tamil Nadu... DMK only want to play politics which is why they are diverting the issue here. The people of Tamil Nadu are against them..."

DMK MP TR Baalu in Delhi says, "Today our adjournment motion notice was rejected by the Lok Sabha Speaker. Protesting against this all Tamil Nadu parties and Congress have walked out from the House. Our demand is to release flood relief funds to Tamil Nadu."
