Kashish Duggal on all things fashion

Fashion means comfort intertwined with style, says actress Kashish Duggal. The actress, who is currently seen in the Suhaagan, says that she loves dressing up, but makes sure she is comfortable as well. “Smart casual and comfortable resort wear day to day. I love wearing sarees on all other occasions. I've always been awestruck by Deepika's Indian fusion wear and Karisma Kapoor's dressing sensibility. Although, the epitome in elegance with class and substance for me has been Gayatri Devi,” she says.
She adds, “I like to see myself in varied styles like Nicobar, Fab India, sometimes as Massimo Dutti to Calvin Klein and Zara!” Talking about how she decides what to wear, she says, “I go with smart stylish choices, according to my age, body type and height. My comfort is never compromised, unless I am on a shoot, then I go with the stylist and what my shoot demands from my screen image.”
Ask her if she thinks that the fashion in older films had a unique charm that modern movies sometimes lack, and she says, “Absolutely, the 60s and 70s were the iconic fashion eras in both Hollywood and Bollywood. I don't think modern movies are lacking anywhere though.” She adds, “If you realise fashion and trends have a cycle, what goes by comes back and I love the take of aspiring designers, I often wear their pieces. I am a fan of anything and everything creative around me.”

Anoushka Chauhan on maintaining success: be flexible, versatile, connect with your audience

Actress Anoushka Chauhan, who is currently seen in Krishna Mohini, shares her insights on the challenges of sustaining success in the TV industry. She emphasizes the importance of staying true to your craft and nurturing the passion that fuels performance and attracts opportunities. Anoushka acknowledges that TV can provide instant fame, but maintaining relevance requires continuous effort. "It highly depends upon an individual how they maintain their relevance in the industry. You have to be flexible, versatile, and connect with the audience. One needs to have credibility and moldability to change with time and needs.Be true to your craft, enjoy it. never let the Fire, the passion for your craft go away and it will reflect in your performance and the things you attract.” she says.
Talking about the difficulty of maintaining success in the TV industry, she explains that it depends on various factors and cannot be achieved single-handedly. "There are a lot of factors involved in maintaining a show on any channel or platform, and it's tiring with really thin threads. Your show may go off-air any day, your character might have to exit, or your influence on the show can be reduced. The show may take a generational leap or undergo a script change. It's very unpredictable," she says.
Anoushka disagrees with the notion that TV follows a fixed pattern in terms of roles. "It is a very individual journey and you cannot put a label on anyone. I have seen a lot of actors who have played lead roles for decades, and I have seen people doing supporting roles and then directly moving to lead roles in some shows or even entering the South Indian film industry or Bollywood itself," she says.
Anoushka emphasizes the importance of talent and faith. "When you have talent and faith, when you decide what you want to do, you will always shine under any circumstances. I have learned so much from my co-actors. I have even heard stories of characters who did not have much screen time initially but were so loved by the audience that gradually the production and writing team had to increase their role," she says.
Talking about roles that have inspired her, she exclaims, "Oh God! There are so many! Tarun Khanna as Chanakya in Chandragupta Maurya, Supriya Pathak as Hansa Bana from Khichdi, Kratika Sengar as Manikarnika, Mona Singh as Jassi, Naseeruddin Shah as Ghalib, Jennifer Winget in Beyhadh, Farida Jalal in Shararat! I can't forget characters from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, CID, or Sumit Sambhal Lega. All these characters are such epics. They left a major impact on me not just as an actor but also as a person. As a child growing up, these characters had a major impact on my personality."
When asked about her future plans, she says, "I don't want to do something that has already been done, but I definitely want to portray a historical or mythological character, or something in sci-fi or a crime thriller genre. I believe my personality would really fit such characters because I have a very strong physique and personality."
