The India Semiconductor Mission has launched an online investor support portal aimed at boosting investor confidence and addressing concerns related to semiconductor investments in the country, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) said on Tuesday.According to the ministry, 12 fabrication and packaging projects and 24 semiconductor design projects have so far been approved under the Centre’s Semicon India Programme.The newly launched portal under the Semicon India Programme is designed to provide investors with detailed information on government schemes, policies, approved semiconductor projects and regulatory requirements related to investments in India.

The platform, called the Investor Support Portal, will offer stakeholders a secure, role-based, single-window digital interface to facilitate streamlined coordination and time-bound resolution of investor concerns, the ministry said.Under the system, investors will be able to register grievances and submit queries online. These issues will be addressed by officials of the India Semiconductor Mission with support from nodal officers of concerned ministries, departments, organisations, state governments, approved project companies and industry associations.
Additional Secretary at MeitY and CEO of the India Semiconductor Mission, Amitesh Kumar Sinha, highlighted the importance of investor facilitation and handholding, particularly for foreign investors, according to the ministry statement.Sinha urged all stakeholders to proactively discharge their responsibilities in resolving investor concerns to strengthen India’s semiconductor manufacturing and design ecosystem.
The launch event included an overview and walkthrough of the portal’s framework, functionalities, onboarding process, coordination mechanisms and the roles and responsibilities of nodal officers from participating ministries, departments, organisations, state governments and trade bodies.The government said it has been undertaking sustained efforts to build a resilient, trusted and sustainable semiconductor ecosystem in the country through strategic initiatives and policy interventions under the Semicon India Programme.
