In an unusual protest, leaders of several INDIA bloc parties on Thursday wore black jackets with stickers reading "Modi Adani Ek Hai" and "Adani Safe Hai" on them and raised slogans on the Parliament premises to demand a joint parliamentary probe into the Adani issue. Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, who put the sticker on his trademark white T-shirt, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi cannot get an investigation done against Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani as it would amount to getting a probe done against himself. Congress MPs including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and lawmakers of several other opposition parties like RJD and the Left participated in the protest.Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju condemns Opposition leaders in Lok Sabha for wearing jackets with raising slogan.

The Trinamool Congress and the Samajwadi Party again kept away from the protest over the Gautam Adani bribery case held in the Parliament complex by the Congress and other opposition parties. Trinamool MP Kirti Azad said the party had other issues to highlight but underlined that the opposition was united in their strategy on the floor of Parliament. TMC wants a discussion on issues like price rise, unemployment, and deprivation of funds to the opposition states. Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav also gave an evasive response. "Where are we not together in protest? We are together," he said.
