Haryana health minister tests Covid positive

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij has tested positive for coronavirus days after participating in the trial of coronavirus vaccine Covaxin. On November 20, Vij had taken a trial dose of Covaxine. Anil Vij further informed that he is admitted to Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantt. "The antibodies against the infection build up in a human being only after a specific number of days pass after the second dose of the vaccine is taken, since this is a two-dose vaccine. The minister in question has taken only one dose of the vaccine," the Union Health Ministry said after Vij's announcement.

covaxin, India's first indigienous vaccine for the highly infectious coronavirus, has been designed to be effective if a person takes two doses, Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical firm Bharat Biotech clarified in a statement today, stressing that the "efficacy can be determined 14 days after the second dose"
