Bollywood super star Amitabh Bachchan, also known as Bug"B" turns 78 on Sunday(October 11). Be it his fans or his colleagues from the film industry, wishes have been pouring in from all corners on Amitabh’s birthday. Amitabh was born as Inquilab Srivastava in 1942 in Allahabad(now Prayagraj). His name was later changed at the suggestion of poet Sumitranandan Pant. Amitabh entered into Bollywood in 1970. The megastar gained popularity for movies like Zanzeer, Sholay and Deewar. Since then the actor has worked in Hollywood, done film production, tried his hand at playback singing and narration and in politics.
He has won several awards over the course of his career including four National Film Awards as Best Actor and the Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award, the Padma Shri (1984), the Padma Bhushan (2001) and the Padma Vibhushan (2015). In 2007 he also received the highest civilian honour of France, the Knight of the Legion of Honour, for his cinema career. Amitabh is one of the greatest and most versatile actors and several of his filmy avatars continue to inspire looks in Bollywood movies till date. Still an icon with more than 200 films illustrating his glorious career.
