Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is no more. When I was very young, his signature was visible on the currency notes. An elder in the house had told me that the one whose signature is on the currency note is a very 'big' person. He is called ‘Governor’. I used to be very happy that someday I too would become 'Governor'. Then I’ll sit and sign all the currency notes. Well! This is a memory of my childhood. When I grew up a little, I came to know that Manmohan Singh is an excellent economist in our country. Later, he became an excellent Finance Minister. His 'biodata' circulating on the internet, shows that there has never been a person like him, and never will be.
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is no more. But, Congressmen are saying that he was also an 'amazing' Prime Minister. Current PM Narendra Modi has also said that he was an amazing MP, he used to come to Parliament to cast his vote in every situation. Some journalists are saying that he was the best 'earlier', but later he went 'worst'. Some journalists are saying that now after his departure, the country will 'know' what he was..
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is no more. But, when he became PM of our nation, I had already entered in the journalism. In the offices we all cubs were told that Atalji had already so much done that was under his control. Now, the reins of the country are in the hands of the ‘best economist’ Manmohan Singh. The country will now run from here in such a way that it will not be able to be ‘stopped’ by anyone. In the beginning, it seemed that this country was not going to stop then. But, later a time came when all these people mentioned above started saying that there was a 'policy paralysis' in the country. The country is not 'moving', but has 'stood' firmly at one place.
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is no more. There is a trend in our society to forgive all the sins of a person after his death. Only the good things have to be discussed. Even if a child in the house says something bad by mistake, the elders in the house 'explain' him to remember only the good things. Delete everything else. Now if this is what the elders say then it must be right, I think. So, why get into the fights of 'right' and 'wrong'? It works according to the circumstances of the place where it is.
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is no more. But, when we look back at his situation and circumstances, it seems that it must have been very difficult for him. It would not have been easy to face the ambitious Congressmen within the party, and aggressive taunts of the opposition, outside the party. But, despite this, he became PM twice. Obviously, he kept defeating his rivals with his talent.
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is no more. But, it seems that the country expected more from him. Today, after him, whoever is criticizing or praising him based on his 'merits' and 'demerits', they are once again trying to confuse us with their own interests in the same way as they did in my childhood.
Finally, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is no more, so we the people of India should keep in mind that there are many different types of pressures on every person holding a big constitutional post in the country. Amidst those pressures, there is another 'pressure' to perform better, so my mind believes that Manmohan Singh played an excellent innings as a Governor, Finance Minister and Prime Minister. He himself once said that history will tell how he will be remembered...
