The Lokayukta Police on Friday registered an FIR against Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) allotment case.The FIR has been filed under various sections of IPC including 351, 420, 340, IPC 09, 120B and others. The move comes days after a special court in Bengaluru ordered directing the Lokayukta to carry out a probe against Siddaramaiah on allegation of illegalities in allotment of 14 sites worth Rs 56 crore to the chief minister's wife Parvathi by MUDA.
Siddaramaiah remains unfazed as he reiterated on Friday that he will not resign as chief minister.Siddaramaiah, speaking to reporters on Friday, claimed he was being targeted as the opposition is "scared" of him and said it's the first such "political case" against him. Party President Mallikarjuna Kharge asserted that Siddaramaiah has not done anything wrong and their (BJP) main aim is to defame the Congress party, it is not fair, there is no question of him (Siddaramaiah) resigning from the post..."

Meanwhile, Karnataka Up Lokayukata Justice B. Veerappa said that 'No influence will be entertained here; we strictly follow the rule of law.'

Slamming the move, BJP hit out at the Congress government and called it the response of a “professional thief and corrupt party”.
