Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel flagged off the first Volvo bus for the 'Chalo, Kumbh Chale' pilgrimage from the Gandhinagar Circuit House to Prayagraj on Monday. Organized by the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) in partnership with the Tourism Corporation, the initiative aims to assist devotees from Gujarat in attending the Maha Kumbh Mela. The pilgrimage package is priced at Rs 8,100 per person, offering a four-day, three-night journey with daily departures at 7:00 AM from Ahmedabad’s Ranip ST Depot. The package includes transportation and accommodation, with overnight stays arranged at the Gujarat Pavilion dormitory in Prayagraj. However, devotees must arrange their own meals during the trip. The inaugural bus carried 45 pilgrims, with seats reserved through an online booking system that quickly reached capacity. To meet the high demand, the Gujarat government plans to deploy additional buses and expand accommodations.

Minister of State for Transport, Harsh Sanghavi, praised the initiative, emphasizing the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in facilitating access to the Maha Kumbh for devotees eager to take a holy dip at Prayagraj. The state government is committed to ensuring a smooth and seamless journey for all participants. Devotees are encouraged to secure their tickets online promptly to avoid missing the opportunity to join this spiritual endeavor.With the overwhelming response to the first phase, the state plans to expand services further, underscoring its dedication to promoting cultural and religious tourism.
