CM Mohan Yadav invites Spanish businesses to invest in MP

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, during his visit to Madrid, held a courtesy meeting with Emilio Contreras Benítez, Deputy Director General (South Asia) at Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union, and Cooperation. The two leaders engaged in detailed discussions on fostering mutual cooperation, exploring investment opportunities, and strengthening strategic partnerships between India and Spain. Dr. Yadav showcased Madhya Pradesh’s investment-friendly policies and highlighted potential sectors for collaboration, including tourism, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and food processing. Benítez expressed optimism about advancing partnerships in areas of mutual interest.

Later, addressing an investment roadshow in Madrid, Chief Minister Yadav invited Spanish businesses to explore opportunities in Madhya Pradesh. Emphasizing the state’s strong fundamentals, he said:“Madhya Pradesh has mineral resources, ample water, nature, agriculture, and tourism. Most importantly, our state provides a congenial and safe atmosphere for investment. There are boundless opportunities in every sector, from medical to tourism, mining to logistics,” Dr. Yadav stated.He further highlighted that while Spain brings innovation, technical expertise, and tourism potential, Madhya Pradesh can complement these strengths to scale new heights of growth and cooperation.

Indian Ambassador to Spain, Dinesh Patnaik, who was present at the event, underscored the state’s holistic development prospects. “Madhya Pradesh represents India in its totality. It’s located at the heart of the country and offers immense potential across sectors—tourism, nature, AI, technology, and beyond,” he said.Patnaik also explained why Indian states seek international investments, noting that India’s federal structure encourages states to formulate economic strategies in line with “cooperative and competitive federalism.”

Focus on Sports Collaboration

On the first day of his Spain visit, Dr. Yadav visited LaLiga’s headquarters to explore partnerships in sports development, particularly football. Discussions focused on providing football players from Madhya Pradesh with international-level training, modern facilities, and opportunities to participate in prestigious global competitions, including the Olympics.
