CCI launches Kapas Kisan App for farmer friendly MSP cotton trade

Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh on Tuesday, launched the Kapas Kisan App, a new digital platform developed by the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) under the Ministry of Textiles, to streamline the procurement of cotton under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme.The mobile application aims to empower cotton farmers with tools for self-registration, slot booking, and real-time payment tracking, ensuring faster, more transparent, and farmer-friendly procurement operations.
Speaking at the launch, Giriraj Singh said, “This farmer-first mobile app marks a major step in enhancing ease of selling cotton for our growers. By digitizing key steps—from registration to payment tracking—we are ensuring timely, transparent, and fair MSP operations. It reinforces our commitment to safeguard farmers from distress sales and to accelerate the vision of Digital India.”The Kapas Kisan App is designed to reduce farmers’ dependence on intermediaries and manual paperwork while eliminating procedural delays. By providing a direct digital interface, it ensures that all eligible cotton farmers can benefit from assured MSP procurement and protection from exploitative market fluctuations.
