The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against the then Controller of Examination, Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission UPPSC on the allegations of irregularities in the selection of candidates. Searches were conducted on Agust 6,2021 at the premises of the then Controller of Examination,at Lucknow. Unknown public servants of UPPSC and unknown private persons are also included in the FIR. Officials of the Commission have been accused for entering into conspiracy by abusing their official position into selection of some undeserving candidates in relation to Additional Private Secretary Exam, 2010.
UPPSC had advertised 250 posts of Additional Private Secretary, APS for direct recruitment as APS-2010 through an advertisement dated 25.12.2010. Final result of this exam was declared on October 3, 2017. It was also alleged that rules were violated with regard to relaxation of mistakes in Hindi Shorthand Test in order to favour certain candidates. It was further alleged that the advertisement rules were relaxed for few candidates and were allowed to change their Computer Certificates. It was also found that in some cases the requisite Computer Certificates submitted by some of the candidates were allegedly found to be forged/false and still those candidates were declared qualified by the Commission.
As per CBI press release, candidates who had committed mistakes upto 8% were also allegedly declared qualified for 3rd phase of Examination i.e. Computer Knowledge Test. It was further alleged that the advertisement rules were relaxed for few candidates and were allowed to change their Computer Certificates.
