In UP, the Bahujan Samaj Party announced its 47 candidates for 7th and last phase of the State assembly elections. Party has replaced it's several candidates who had contested in 2017 polls as party nominee. Ex SP Government Minister and Shivpal Singh Yadav loyalist Ms Shadab Fatima is being fielded from Zahoorabad in Ghazipur against SP ally Om Prakash Rajbhar. She was defeated SP candidate by Rajbhar then BJP alliance candidate in 2017 polls. Party' State Unit President Bhim Rajbhar will contest from Mau against sitting MLA Mukhtar Ansari stronghold.
In Azamgarh the BSP had won four seats in 2017 polls but this time party has re-nominated only Azad Arimardan from the Lalganj reserved seat. Ex Speaker Sukhdev Rajbhar had won from the Didarganj constituency. He died last year. Another MLA Shah Alam alias Guddu Jamali, who won from Mubarakpur has left the party. Similarly Ms Vandana Singh, who won from Sagdi, is in the fray from the BJP this time.
