Bomb blast near California fertility clinic, FBI calls it act of terrorism

A car bomb exploded near the American Reproductive Centers fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California on Satyrday, resulting in the death of one person.  police have officially declared blast as ‘intentional act of violence’. Dr. Maher Abdallah, who runs the American Reproductive Centres fertility clinic, confirmed that his clinic was damaged. The explosion damaged the practice’s office space, where it conducts consultations with patients, but left the IVF lab and all of the stored embryos there unharmed.

Authorities confirmed that the explosion took place around 11 AM local time on North Indian Canyon Drive near East Tachevah Drive. Lt. William Hutchinson said police is investigating the incident as an ‘act of terrorism’. ABC News, citing law enforcement sources and the facility, said at least five people were injured in the explosion. Palm Springs is a tiny community in the desert about a two-hour drive east of Los Angeles. Its known for upscale resorts and a history of celebrity residents.
