BJP renominates Vaishnaw from Odisha,Murugan from MP for RS

The BJP on Wednesday announced five more names for the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh. Among these four will seek election from Madhya Pradesh. Union ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and L Murugan will be party Rajya Sabha candidates from Odisha and Madhya Pradesh respectively.BJP has fielded 3 more candidates-Umesh Nath Maharaj, Bansi Lal Gurger and Ms Maya Narolia from MP.

Railway Minister Vaishnaw is likely to get elected with the support of the state's ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD), as was the case during the former IAS officer's election for the first term in 2019. The BJP has the numbers to win four seats while the Congress can win one.
