In Bihar, Independent MP Rajesh Ranjan, popularly known as Pappu Yadav, was arrested by Patna Police late Friday from his residence here in connection with a case dating back to 1995, officials said.High drama unfolded at Yadav's house in Mandiri locality when a police team arrived to execute a warrant issued by an MP/MLA court in the case registered under section 467 (forgery of documents) of the Indian Penal Code. Patna SP City Bhanu Pratap Singh says, "Pappu Yadav has been arrested in connection with a 1995 case registered under IPC Sections 468, 506 and 120B and the court had issued an order regarding this.

Yadav, who represents the Purnea Lok Sabha constituency, initially refused to accompany the police team, claiming they were carrying a warrant for the attachment of property but not for his arrest.
