In Karnataka, at least 9 people were injured in an explosion at Bengaluru's popular eatery The Rameshwaram Cafe in Whitefield on Friday. The cause is suspected to be an LPG cylinder blast, according to police officials.The injured included three staff members and one customer. They suffered minor injuries and were out of danger, officials said. Initial reports suggested that an object placed in a bag exploded around 1 pm leading to black smoke in and around the cafe. Police officials said that forensic teams were collecting material and the exact cause of the blast would be determined after tests.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah confirmed that the Rameshwaram Cafe blast was caused by a low-intensity improvised explosive device. Siddaramaiah spoke to the reporters in Mysuru and said after noon, somebody kept a bag at the cafe which exploded injuring some people. "We are examining the CCTV footage. It was an explosive blast. We don't know who has done it. The police are at the spot. I have asked the home minister to review the situation," Siddaramaiah said.

A bomb disposal squad is also at the site. Meanwhile, police are checking CCTV footage from the vicinity to trace the events before the blast.No casualties have been reported so far. The injured have been shifted to a local hospital and are currently receiving treatment, officials said.
