Asian Games : Abhay Singh Wins Silver in Men’s Singles Squash

India’s Abhay Singh won the silver medal in the men’s singles squash competition at the Asian Games 2026 after losing to defending champion Eain Yow Ng of Malaysia in the final on Sunday.Abhay went down 0-3 against the Malaysian, who maintained control throughout the match and won without dropping a game.

The Indian produced a decent start but narrowly conceded the opening game 9-11. Ng then dictated proceedings in the next two games, winning both 11-5 to seal the gold medal.The defeat was Abhay’s eighth loss against Ng, who is currently ranked 18th in the world.Abhay had earlier booked his place in the final with a convincing 3-0 victory over Pakistan’s Muhammad Irfan in the semi-finals. He needed just 35 minutes to complete the win.The silver is India’s second medal in squash at the ongoing Asian Games. Joshna Chinappa and Velavan Senthilkumar had won bronze in the mixed doubles competition on Saturday.The medal is also Joshna’s sixth Asian Games medal. The 40-year-old already has two silver and three bronze medals from the continental event.
