BJP MLC CT Ravi, who was arrested on Thursday by Belagavi police, on Friday claimed there was a threat to his life from the Congress government. Ravi was taken into custody after an FIR was registered against him, for allegedly using derogatory remarks against Congress leader and Karnataka cabinet minister Laxmi Hebbalkar in the Legislative Council earlier in the day.Earlier, Hebbalkar’s supporters entered the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha and attacked Ravi. The Karnataka BJP, on the other hand, claimed that Ravi was made to sit in a car and was taken around the city in the vehicle till Friday morning.In a post on social media platform X, CT Ravi said the police were plotting something against him. In the post, he claimed that the Karnataka police took three hours to administer first aid to a man who sustained a head injury in police custody.He said that he had been sitting in a police vehicle and driven around for the past five to six hours.
