Actor Amitabh Bachchan, who is currently shooting for Prabhas's sci-fi film Project-K in Hyderabad, took part in in Green India Challenge on Tuesday. As part of the programme, Bachchan planted saplings at Ramoji Film City. Nagarjuna Akkineni, producer Ashwin and many others also attended the event.
Rajya Sabha MP Joginipally Santosh Kumar, who started the Green India Challenge in 2018, was appreciated by the veteran actor for spreading the cause all across the country. Santosh Kumar presented Vruksha Vedam book to Big B.
The parliamentarian later took to Twitter and thanked Big B for the support and encouraging words. "Team #GreenIndiaChallenge is delighted to have you on board SuperStar @SrBachchan ji! It’s privilege for all of us. Honoured to be with you while you plant a sapling. Your kind encouraging words for your fans and others to take this up would mean a lot for us sir @iamnagarjuna," he tweeted.
The Green India Challenge was launched by Santosh Kumar on July 17, 2018, with the slogan "hara hai toh bhara hai". The well thought challenge is now in its fourth year and has garnered appreciation from people and celebrities across the country, encouraging people to plant saplings and take care of nature for future generation.
Amitabh Bachchan is shooting for Project-K in Hyderabad, which is directed by Nag Ashwin. Deepika Padukone is also a part of the film.
