Abuses never solve anything. PM urges people to guide the ‘misguided'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday appealed to society to guide rather than punish people who have gone astray, saying that abuses never solve anything and that “misguided children” should be given an opportunity to learn from their mistakes and reform. In a video message shared on X, the Prime Minister referred to the recent incident at Jantar Mantar, where abusive language was used against him and his late mother. He said the episode had been witnessed by people across the country and the world, adding that while the anger and disappointment in society over such conduct were understandable, childhood is also a phase of learning, making mistakes and correcting them.
PM Modi said that instead of dragging such youngsters through court proceedings or subjecting them to social harassment, society should embrace them and show them the right path. He said he wished to forgive the children involved and appealed to people to accept the same spirit of compassion and understanding. Addressing the youth, PM Modi urged them to learn from their mistakes, move forward with confidence and dedicate themselves to nation-building. He said India is progressing rapidly and expressed the hope that every young person would also advance in life by pursuing their dreams and contributing to the country’s development.

Drawing an analogy, he said, "We don't disown our teeth even if they bite our tongue; both belong to us, just as our youth are our own."
