A fresh disturbance likely to affect Western Himalyan region

♦️ A trough in westerlies runs from northeast Bihar to southeast Arabian Sea across Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka and north Kerala in mid-tropospheric levels and another trough in low levels easterlies lies over west central Bay of Bengal and runs from off north Tamilnadu coast to south Odisha coast at lower tropospheric levels. Under its influence: (i) Light to moderate rainfall at isolated/scattered places very likely over Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and Kerala & Mahe during next 3 days. (ii) Isolated thunderstorm & lightning very likely over Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and Kerala & Mahe during next 2 days and over Lakshadweep area during next 24 hours. 

♦️ Dense to Very Dense Fog in isolated/some pockets very likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh in the morning hours of 21st & 22nd February and over northwest Rajasthan on 21st morning and reduction in intensity & spatial coverage thereafter. 

♦️ A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Western Himalayan region from Saturday. Under its influence: (i) Light to moderate scattered to widespread rainfall/snowfall very likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan & Muzaffarabad and isolated to fairly widespread rainfall/snowfall very likely over Himachal Pradesh during next 5 days and over Uttarakhand on 23rd & 24th February, 2021. (ii) Isolated thunderstorm/lighting very likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan & Muzaffarabad during next 5 days and over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during 22nd to 24th February, 2021. Isolated Hailstorm also very likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan & Muzaffarabad on 21st & 22nd and over Uttarakhand on 22nd, 23rd & 24th February, 2021. (iii) Isolated heavy rainfall/snowfall very likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan & Muzaffarabad on 22nd February, 2021.
