65th Karnataka Rajyotsava celebrated

65th formation day of Karnataka was celebrated on Sunday the November 1 in the State. It's popularly called Kannada Rajyotsava. The celebrations were  a low key affair due to Corona pandemic. Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa unfurled the national flag and offered floral prayers to Goddess Bhuvaneshwari at Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. He announced that Kannada will be made official language at all levels in the state. He declared this year as Kannada Kayaka Varsha to provide jobs to unemployed youth of the State. He also urged people to use Kannada in all their transactions. 
There were no cultural programs by school children arranged this time fearing spread of corona.Elsewhere in the State Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated as a very low affair. Kannada flags  were hoisted in all circles and junctions. Vehicles were decorated with flowers and Kannada flags was the common sight throughout the State.
