At least two people have died and six others are feared trapped after a four-storey building collapsed in Kotma town of Anuppur district in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday evening, officials said.The building, identified as ‘Aggarwal Lodge’, was located near a busy bus stand area and came crashing down around 5:30 pm. Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud explosion-like sound moments before the structure collapsed, sending up thick clouds of dust and debris.
According to police, several people were present in the vicinity at the time of the incident, including passengers at the bus stand and workers engaged in construction activities at a nearby site, raising concerns about more casualties.Rescue operations are currently underway, with teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), along with sniffer dogs, deployed to locate and extricate those trapped under the rubble.
