Congress has alleged that the TMC is paving the way for BJP in Bengal; if TMC had performed its duties, BJP wouldn't be a factor. Addressing an election rally at Raiganj in West Bengal, Gandhi said, TMC cannot take on the BJP. Only the Congress Party can stand against the BJP and defeat it. "Today, the public is troubled by the corruption of the TMC, so we must come together to bring about change in West Bengal, he said.

Gandhi on Tuesday alleged that "hate-filled thinking" of the BJP and the RSS is destroying the Constitution, and accused the saffron party of indulging in vote theft. He also accused the RSS and the BJP of being "involved in vote theft" and "destroying democracy". Accusing both the BJP and TMC of corruption, Gandhi said, "Modi is corrupt anyway, but TMC is not lagging behind in the race of corruption either," before listing major financial scandals. Gandhi mentioned the Saradha chit fund scam, alleging that Rs1,900 crore belonging to 17 lakh investors remains unpaid, and the Rose Valley scam involving ₹6,600 crore and 31 lakh investors. He further accused the ruling party of benefiting from coal smuggling, illegal mining and a "syndicate raj".
