Congress releases 2nd list for Lok Sabha polls

The Congress on Tuesday released its second list of 43 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The list features names of sons of senior Congress leaders, including Kamal Nath and Ashok Gehlot.Nakul Nath, who is the son of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, has been fielded from Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh. He is a sitting MP from the seat.Vaibhav Gehlot, who will fight from Jalore, had lost the election from Jodhput to Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in 2019.Besides, the state's former police chief Harish Meena, will contest from Tonk-Sawai Madhopur.Rahul Kaswa, who crossed over from the BJP, will contest from Churu and Brijendra Ola from Jhunjhunu.Gaurav Gogoi, son of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi,has also been given ticket from Jorhat.

"On Monday, CEC met and cleared the list of around 43 names from Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan," said KC Venugopal on Tuesday as he announced the names."In this list, out of the 43 candidates, 10 are General candidates, 13 OBC candidates, 10 SC candidates, 9 ST candidates and 1 Muslim candidate," KC Venugopal added.
