‘No One Will Be Spared’: Fadnavis on firing incident at Tiger Shroff

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday strongly condemned the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai, asserting that no one involved in the attack would be spared and that police would track down the perpetrators and their masterminds.
Fadnavis said the Mumbai Police had taken the incident seriously, gathered crucial clues and identified specific individuals suspected of involvement. He expressed confidence that the suspects would be arrested soon and that the investigation would extend to those allegedly directing the attack from outside Maharashtra or abroad.“Regardless of the gang or the individual involved, no one will be spared. If anyone attempts to operate through such threats, the Mumbai Police knows exactly how to set them straight,” Fadnavis said while addressing a press conference.

Describing the incident as serious and condemnable, the Chief Minister said the police were pursuing leads and would take strict action against everyone involved. He also confirmed that a request had been sent to take gangster Lawrence Bishnoi into custody, adding that the legal process was underway.“We have already sent the request and action is currently underway. That is why I said, no matter where their masterminds might be hiding, the due legal process must be followed,” Fadnavis said.
He added that the Mumbai Police had demonstrated its ability to track down perpetrators even when they were hiding in other parts of the world. The Chief Minister said the investigation would not be limited to those who allegedly carried out the firing. Authorities would also pursue the masterminds suspected of issuing instructions from remote locations.
According to Fadnavis, those involved in operating within Maharashtra had already been arrested, while others were believed to be operating from outside the state or the country.“These perpetrators are operating from outside Maharashtra, or even from outside the country. By coordinating with the states from which they operate, and with the assistance of the Central Government regarding those operating from abroad, we will track them down and take strict action against them,” he said.
The firing took place on Sunday evening in Mumbai’s Juhu area. According to police, unidentified individuals opened fire at Shroff as he was leaving a football club in his car at around 7 pm.A case has been registered against three unidentified individuals under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act, according to agency reports. Two people, including Shroff’s driver, were injured in the firing, while the actor escaped without any gunshot injuries.
Following the incident, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Shroff’s residence on Sunday night to enquire about his well-being and assure him of the state government’s support.Photographs from the meeting showed Shroff with dressings on his shoulder and chest and a bandage on his right arm. His mother, Ayesha Shroff, was also present.Fadnavis said the government would review all aspects of the incident to determine whether changes to security arrangements for actors were necessary.Expressing confidence in the Mumbai Police, he described the force as highly professional and said it would take all necessary measures following the attack.“Everything related to this incident will be analysed. Whatever is necessary will be done. I believe the Mumbai Police is regarded as a highly professional force. They will take all the necessary steps following an incident like this,” he said.
The Chief Minister also criticised opposition parties over their remarks on the incident, accusing them of misusing the police during their tenure. He maintained that the public and members of the film industry continued to have faith in the Mumbai Police.Fadnavis cited previous cases to defend the force, alleging that the opposition had failed to ensure public safety when it was in power. He said criticism of the police should be viewed in the context of the opposition’s own record. He reiterated that the government would pursue those responsible for the firing, including the alleged masterminds operating from outside Maharashtra or India.
