Four hard-core criminals from Bihar were killed in an encounter in Delhi. A joint operation by the Delhi Police Crime Branch and the Bihar Police led to the killing of four most-wanted gangsters on Thursday. The late-night encounter reportedly took place after the gangsters first opened fire on the cops, forcing the police to retaliate. . The infamous gang, led by Bihar's 'most wanted' gangsters Ranjan Pathak and Manish Pathak, had reportedly been planning a major strike during the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Ranjan and Manish were both killed in the encounter, along with two other criminals, identified as Bimlesh Mahto and Aman Thakur.Joint CP Crime Surender Kumar of Delhi Police said, a Bihar Police team was also present in Delhi. We were continuously receiving information about their location through technical interception, but they were consistently eluding the police. Their movement was noted around 2 am last night on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg in Rohini, in the Begumpur police station area. The police team requested them to stop, upon which they opened fire in retaliation.

The gang was intercepted by raiding teams of the Delhi Police Crime Branch and the Bihar Police in Rohini during its ongoing crackdown on interstate criminal networks. According to police except Aman Thakur, other three criminals were residnets of Sitamarhi district in Bihar Thakur was a resident of Karawal Nagar, Delhi. In Patna, Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar said that the gang was committing crimes almost every month. They were contract killers...They had named their gang 'Sigma and Company' and that itself indicates their intentions.A criminal from Delhi, Aman used to give them shelter there. There are other members of the gang too, he said.

All four were wanted in several heinous crimes across Bihar, including multiple murders, extortion, and armed attacks. These included a series of high-profile killings, including that of Brahmashri Sena district head Ganesh Sharma, Madan Sharma, and Aditya Singh.They were reportedly facing cases in Bihar's Dumra, Chaurat, Gahra and Purnahiya. Accused were carrying a reward of Rs. 1,00,000/- on their arrest.
