A Canadian real estate CEO and his two daughters were shot while his wife was struck with a hammer during an invasion inside their multi-million-dollar home in an affluent Toronto neighborhood Thursday morning.MAC Group boss David Morton and his family were attacked when three masked men stormed into their gated Bridle Path property at around 3:45 a.m., according to media reports. The suspects, who were armed with handguns and a hammer, gained access to the five-bedroom residence through a back door, Toronto Police Service Inspector Kristy Smith told reporters.
It was learned that after the attackers demanded valuables, a struggle broke out in the house. During the ensuing struggle, the suspects fired repeatedly. Businessman David Morton and his two daughters were hit by bullets, while his wife Doriana Zohil was injured by hammer blows. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether the suspects took money, jewelry, or any other valuables from the mansion. Police also stated that no vehicle was stolen from the house.
Bridle Path is known as one of Canada's wealthiest residential areas in Toronto. The area has luxury mansions surrounded by high walls, security cameras, and private security services. Despite this, there is a serious increase in home invasions across Toronto. According to police data, 119 home invasions were recorded in the city in 2026. This figure points to a 35 percent increase compared with the same period last year. Police officials noted that some attacks previously carried out in the street to seize luxury vehicles are beginning to be replaced by raids directly targeting homes.
