It was a great decision to explore Baku.” Asked about the best thing of Baku, she says, ”the local people are so kind-hearted, sweet and helpful. I have never seen locals giving so much of respect and love to tourists. The best part of this trip is I made so many new friends including two girls with whom I connected so well! We even went on a day trip with them. It was super fun. We have also danced to Hindi songs as they are huge fans of Shah Rukh Khan even though they don’t understand the language. One of them even took me to her place where she made coffee and traditional Azerbaijani soup. I was so overwhelmed by their nature it was the most memorable experience I had with these two girls. Pooja Sahu on being part of Dahej Daasi: Many women will relate to the show

Actress Pooja Sahu, who plays the role of Mandira Chachi in the show Dahej Dassi, says that the story line is sure to inspire change. The actress says that the Do Dooni 4 Films production is very different from the show she has done before.“The title of the show Dahej Dasi reflects the dowery system in society. Dowry is a social evil in society, that has caused unimaginable torture and crimes toward women. I am playing the role of Mandira Chachi i.e Jay's Chachi (played by Rajat Verma) who is full of masala, fun, comic release in the show. People will love seeing me on screen, she's a person who wants to take Vindhya's place (played by Sayantani Ghosh). She wants to be the owner of the palace. She is positive, negative as well as a comic character,” she says.
Talking about how diverse this show is, she says, “My character itself is unique. I have done comic roles mostly, my last show was Thapki Pyaar Ki. I did only comedy in that show. But in Dahej Daasi, I play different shades of character. There's a different emotion and feeling with every different character in the show. Her emotions change in every line with different character. That is a very unique and different feeling for the first time.”
Ask her how she prepared for the role, and she says, “I watched Rajasthani based shows like Diya Aur Baati Hum. I worked on my language and I took inspiration from the character Minakshi in the show. I also did a couple of workshops for the language.” She adds, “The character is totally different from what I am. I am a very peaceful person. I think that is the beauty of being part of showbiz. You get to play different characters, diverse to what you are in real life.”
Pooja says that the storyline of the show depicts reality accurately, and people will love this. “I feel that realistic content is the best today. I don't like watching shows that aren't realistic. You can connect with realistic content as an audience. I feel women would connect with Dahej Daasi at some point. I feel most of the audience will be able to connect with the show. There are a lot of places where dowry and other traditions are still practiced. Dahej Daasi is something that happened back then. The show is very unique, and once you watch it, you will see how the characters create drama,” she says.Talking about working with producers Ravindra Gautam and Raghuvir Shekhawat, she says, “It's an amazing experience. They are very down to earth and are very experienced. I am learning a lot of things from them. We work like a family and they make us feel comfortable and as an actor whatever issues we have we can just go to them.”

Homi sir instructed the casting director to cast me in Murder Mubarak. Few days later, I received a call from the casting director who offered me a small but impactful role, which intrigued me. The role revolves around a character who manages an orphanage and is devastated upon learning about the murder of his friend and co-caretaker. The story delves into his journey of coping with the loss and how he will take this story forward.”
Nikhil feels a great team is always instrumental in an actor’s career. He adds, "I have always aspired to be in the same team as Homi Adajania and Maddock Films. They are individuals who truly understand the craft. Every actor desires to work with acclaimed producers and directors in order to further develop their craft.”Murder Mubaraak is inspired by Anuja Chauhan's book Club You To Death. Nikhil read a few parts of the book and felt compelled to do the film. He says, "The script was so well-crafted and was evolving at every turn. There was no doubt in my mind; it was perfect. The book itself was excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.”
The film has a great ensemble cast consisting of Karishma Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Sanjay Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi ,Tisca Chopra, Sara Ali Khan, Vijay Verma. Nikhil defines his entire experience as amazing. “I shot with Sara, Vijay Verma, Pankaj Tripathi, Karisma Kapoor, and Dimple Kapadia. Working with Karisma Kapoor was particularly delightful as we had scenes together, and she was incredibly welcoming and professional. During our scene discussions, she approached the work as a true team player, dedicated to making each scene the best it could be. It was inspiring to collaborate with individuals who are driven to work hard, as it encourages you to deliver your best performance. It was indeed one of the best experiences to work with Homi Adajania and Maddock Films. It’s always been on my wish list to collaborate with the best in the business. Homi is a cool person on set, and at the same time he knows exactly what he wants. There's no judgment from him, and he's always available to help. He expects his actors to give their best and strives to bring out the best in them. I hope to work with him on a full-length film soon.”
Ott series and films characters are more interesting to play as they are relatable and real and we have noticed that in many ott series and films. Nikhil also echoes the same. “Roles in OTT are very interesting, and as an actor, I approach them from the same perspective. As long as the role excites you and has the capability to resonate with audiences worldwide, I believe it's a good enough reason to pursue it. Certainly, OTT platforms offer a diversity of roles, providing opportunities even for those outside the industry to enter the world of cinema. OTT can be likened to the IPL of the movie business. Working in OTT can serve as a great stepping stone to the big screen. I am very excited and looking forward to what lies ahead. Additionally, there is another show called 'Pill,' possibly releasing in April, produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Films and directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. So all things lined up and God has really been kind and the journey is going well till now.”
