The 70th National Film Awards for the year 2022 were announced in New Delhi on Friday. In the non-feature film category, Aaina won the best non-feature film award. In the feature film category, the best Hindi film award was bagged by Gulmohar. Rishabh Shetty won the best actor award for his Kannada film, Kantara. Haryanvi film Fouja won the Best Lyrics award in the non-feature film category. The best singer award male was given to Arijit Singh.The Malayalam film 'Aattam' won the National Award for Best Film at the 70th National Awards.The film by director Anand Ekarshi centres around a female member of a theatre troupe who is sexually assaulted by the male ‘hero’ during an evening at a farmhouse retreat. The official description of the film read, "A crime in sight, A fortune at stake. The play goes beyond the stage." The national awards were announced by feature film jury head Rahul Rawail.
