Maverick Producer Herumb Khot: talks about social media and its pros and cons

Zerodha CEO Nithin Kamath recently shared that he suffered a mild stroke. Producer Herumb Khot says that in today’s times, social media has become a hub of advice which might not even be authentic.“Welcome to the world of social media where everyone is an influencer and wants to share their pearls of 'unwanted' wisdom on various platforms, just because they can. People and celebrities are talking about various medical procedures done on themselves, promoting quick fixes to look good and get fit. Imagine this some gullible viewer in some corner of the world religiously following it expecting results. This is what it's come to these days,” he says.
He adds, “Actually worse than the suggestions, are the parameters of beauty these influencers are trying to establish. Thin, fair and product-infused hair and the usage of fancy brands have become the standards of beauty now. Yes, people post some random strange quick fixes to attract more views and likes without a care of what it will do to people who will follow this.” He adds that people blindly follow influencers, which is also wrong. “The audience is to blame equally. We have to stop judging just by what is projected on social media. Reality is different. Nothing should be done without medical advice. I have lost someone I know who took fat reduction pills that lead to a stroke-induced coma.”
Talking about who he looks up to on social media, he says, “I don't follow anyone's advice blindly as such but do follow a few qualified medical practitioners like Dave Asprey, Hubermanlab, Vidyut Jammwal and Dr Palmanickam for educated opinions.” Producer Herumb Khot is currently the producer of Dabangii: Mulgi Aayi Re Aayi along with Nilanjana Purkayasstha under Invictus T Mediaworks.

Meet Rishabh Jaiswal who plays Krish Bansal in Rajan Shahi's "Yeh Ristha Kya Kehlata Hai"

Rishabh Jaiswal has successfully managed to woo the audience with his character of Krish Bansal in Rajan Shahi’s “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai”. Being able to live the life of an actor, which was his dream, acts as the source of his daily encouragement. He said, “When I came to Mumbai to become an actor, everything was a dream, be it being on the set or shooting, so I don't think I need any motivation to come on set. Even though I was the kind of person who couldn’t wake up early in the morning, now I wake up early, every day, to go on the set of my show and live my dream. I wake up with an inner motivation every day.” “This is such a big show, with so many beautiful people around. It's a different feeling. Even if I'm partying till late, I still arrive on time the next day for the shoot. So being able to fulfill my dream acts as a driving force for me,” he added.
Rishabh also shared that he is able to connect with his character to a great extent. “There are a lot of things that are actually happening in his life, be it his father telling him what to do in his career, and him wanting to do something else,” he said.“If we talk about the character graph, the scenes that are shown are pretty emotional, like where he is a little irritated by his father, or his father hits him in front of all the family members, and calls him a loser. So my character is traumatised. I feel every time you play an emotional character, you have to make up your mind and go into that zone where you actually feel it. And if you don't feel it on camera, it shows. Therefore, I give it my 100%,” he added.
Rajan Shahi’s shows are famous for their dance sequences and Rishabh enjoys doing them. He said, “Our show is famous for celebrations and dances and whenever there's any scene/sequence which involves dance, I enjoy it thoroughly. Being a dance enthusiast, I just love such scenes.”The young actor also expressed his views on how the TV industry is going through a transition phase and giving big competition to OTT and films in terms of the content. He said, “A lot of people have shifted to OTT after the lockdown, they are giving more preference to OTT and movies. As far as TV is concerned, everyone knows that they can watch all the episodes of TV shows on OTT platforms. For example, my show is on StarPlus, but you can also watch it on Disney+Hotstar, even before it airs on TV. That's the benefit and power of OTT, and I think everyone is enjoying it.”
“We get a lot of love from everywhere, and I'm really glad that even in today's time, our show is getting so much love. I'm hopeful that it grows like this for a longer time. We will keep working, whether it's TV or OTT,” Rishabh added.

Florian Hurel on upcoming hairstyles for summers

Summer months are all set to fall upon us, and while we love the summer sun, hair styling in the summer can be a bit of a challenge due to the heat and humidity. However, fret not, as we have French hair and make-up stylist Florian Hurel to give us expert tips on hair care this summer. Florian, who has styled the likes of Deepika Padukone and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, also gives us some hairstyles that are sure to trend this summer.
“Beachy waves are a classic summer hairstyle that never goes out of style. If you’re having a bad hair day, the messy bun is a versatile hairstyle that you can wear up or down depending on the occasion. Braids are a great hairstyle for the hot weather and to keep your hair out of your face while still looking stylish. The high ponytail is a simple and classic summer hairstyle. The low bun is a chic and easy hairstyle that is perfect for summer weddings and other formal occasions. The top knot is a popular hairstyle that is both stylish and easy to achieve. The half-up, half-down hairstyle is a great option if you want to keep your hair out of your face but still show off your length,” he says.
Talking about hair-care tips, he says, “As the temperature rises, we seek hairstyles that are lightweight, effortless, and perfect for the season. Opt for hairstyles that are more heat-friendly such as loose braids, topknots, messy buns etc. These styles are more forgiving and tend to hold up better in the summer heat. Brush your hair before you shower, also wash your hair regularly, with hair cleansers that are chemical and sulphate-free. Natural hair cleansers are great as well. Dry your hair naturally and remember to protect your hair before heat styling. It is also important to care for your scalp. Also, remember the deep condition as well as eat healthy.”
Talking about colours for summer, he says, “Flattering hair colours have ashy tones, such as cool ash blonde, medium ash blonde or medium ash brown or medium brown. For darker skin tones, dark ash brown looks stunning on you.”
