Rain wreaks havoc in Mumbai

Mumbai was battered by heavy rainfall which led to flooding in many areas. The traffic on road as well as railway tracks was thrown out of gear.

Devotee-less Rath Yatra held in Puri

The annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagnnath was held in Odisha's Puri on Monday. This is the second consecutive year that the annual event was held under the shadow of Covid-19. There were strict protocols in place and no devotees were allowed. The city of Puri is under curfew till Tuesday morning.

ITBP personnel rescue trekker in daring operation

In a daring life saving operation, personnel of 19th Battalion Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) rescued an injured trekker from 18,570 feet on Shrikhand Mahadev route in Himachal Pradesh.

In a risky high altitude operation, the ITBP personnel carried him for 18 kilometres from Sarkand top of Shrikhand Mahadev trek to nearest road head Fancha on stretcher.

The entire route was full of high altitude hazard challenges in which the jawans rescued the trapped trekker in a highly professional manner. The mountaineers of the 19th battalion ITBP brought the injured safely on a stretcher and reached to the destination on Wednesday afternoon.

The injured was handed over to the civil administration.
