Amid political crisis, Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar on Thursday expressed confidence the Maha Vikas Aghadi government would survive the storm unleashed by rebel MLA Eknath Shinde, who claims the support of over 40 MLAs."A floor test will decide who has majority," Pawar told reporters. Pawar also said "Everyone knows how the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs were taken to Gujarat and then Assam. We don't have to take the names of all those assisting them. The Assam government is helping them. I don't need to take any names further." Nationalist Congress Party leader Ajit Pawar said that his party will stand with Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray till the end. After the party's emergency meeting, Congress decided to stick to its ‘wait and watch’ policy. The party is hopeful that the MVA will survive as the Shinde camp will not be able to manage 37 MLAs. The party will wait for Shiv Sena’s official announcement.
n a last-ditch attempt to save the ruling Maharashtra alliance, Team Thackeray has decided to file an appeal with the Maharashtra assembly Deputy Speaker seeking to disqualify 15 rebel MLAs. As per media report, as more Shiv Sena MLAs deserted Uddhav Thackeray to cross over to the rebel camp led by Eknath Shinde, MPs too switched sides, leaving the powerful family at the core of the party virtually isolated.
