Redevelopment of railway stations is priority agenda of Railways

Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, and Amazon Web Services has  announced new initiatives to strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in India.This will be done by empowering school students with cloud computing skills, and enabling entrepreneurs to build innovative education technology solutions on the cloud.A Statement of Intent was signed between NITI Aayog and Amazon Internet Services Private Limited, which undertakes the resale and marketing of Amazon Web Services Cloud services in India. Atal Innovation Mission will leverage Amazon Web Services Educate, which is Amazon’s global program that provides resources for students and educators to accelerate cloud-related learning.This program will introduce the fundamentals of cloud computing such as cloud storage, virtual compute power, web hosting, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and virtual reality, to students at more than 7000 Atal Tinkering Labs.It will equip the talented youth of the country with digital and web-based tools that can enhance their creative and innovative capabilities.

-Labour and Employment Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar released four volumes of Compendium on Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers in New Delhi.Speaking on the occasion, Gangwar said on Thursday that this compendium having data on Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers of more than eight decades will play a pivotal role in bridging the data gap between old records and present figures and maintaining continuity.The Minister said, the compendium, which is one of the main indexes in the country will prove to be an accurate asset in formation of various welfare policies.He said, in the absence of apt information and data, no policy can be drafted.

-Uttar Pradesh government has made it compulsory for people arriving to the state from different parts of the country to undergo Rapid Antigen test at railway stations, bus stations and airports. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked to ensure that covid protocol must be followed in every situation. He said that in the wake of upcoming festivals and panchayat election we have to be extra careful and there is a need to intensify the contact tracing.Recently there is a little surge in the number of new covid patients in state.Chief Minister said that this surge is an alarm for us and therefore the number of RT-PCR tests should be increased and dedicated Covid hospitals must remain active in all districts.The Control and Command centre has also been activated and government is keeping close eye over the situation. Chief Minister also said that no Vaccine should be damaged in the process of Vaccination.

-Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal has said that redevelopment of railway stations across the country is a priority agenda of his Ministry. He said, this agenda is being driven with full force by the Government with the participation of private players as a part of PPP projects. As part of this agenda, work on redevelopment of 123 stations is in progress. As per current estimates, total investment needed for redevelopment of 123 stations along with real estate development is about 50 thousand crore rupees. At present, works for redevelopment of stations have been initiated including in Nagpur, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Ajni stations in Maharashtra, Habibganj and  Gwalior Stations in Madhya Pradesh, Gandhinagar and  Sabarmati station in Gujarat, Ayodhya and  Gomti Nagar stations in Uttar Pradesh and Safdarjung and  New Delhi stations in Delhi.

-In Kargil the department of Technical Education and Skill development is organising Kaushal Mela as part of skill development programme of government of India.This Kaushal Mehla will be organised under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) on March 24 and in Leh on 27th of March.

-European Commision's president Ursula Von der Leyen outlined the proposal for the EU's Digital Green Pass to reopen access to international travel and leisure activities.Officially called a Digital Green Certificate, the pass will be a proof that a person has been vaccinated, received a negative test result or recovered from COVID-19.The proposal is a balanced package of existing and new measures, said European Commission Vice President Margaritis Schinas.
