In view of rising coronavirus cases, the Rajasthan government on Wednesday extended the night curfew timings by one hour in eight worst-affected districts namely Ajmer, Bhilwara, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Udaipur, Sagwada (Dungarpur) and Kushalgarh (Banswara), according to an official release. Also, markets in urban areas across the state will shut down 9 pm instead of 10 pm, the release said. Apart from these eight cities, the night curfew will also be imposed in Chittorgarh and Abu Road (Sirohi), according to the release.
However, chemist shops, offices related to emergency services, IT companies, restaurants, wedding ceremonies, transportation, travellers will be exempted from the night curfew, the release said. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot directed officials to ensure compliance of the decisions. Gehlot directed teams of district administration, police and local bodies to regularly visit markets to conduct checks.An intense checking will continue till April 14. Gehlot said that the district collectors may take decisions about closing educational institutions in districts, where the cases are rising, after consultation with the government.
