In a serene display of faith and devotion, more than 12.5 million devotees took a holy dip on the third and last Shahi Snan of Mahakumbh, Prayagraj as of 12 pm on Monday. The third and last Shahi Snan is on the occasion of Basant Panchmi.The Amrit Snan is the most significant and sacred ritual of the Maha Kumbh Mela. People also participated in the Ganga Aarti in large numbers this morning. The first two Amrit Snan took place on 14th January, Makar Sankranti and 29th January on Mauni Amavasya.Prayagraj is witnessing an unparalleled outpouring of faith as sages, saints, devotees, Kalpvasis, and pilgrims immerse themselves in devotion during Mahakumbh.The spiritual fervor in Prayagraj remains unwavering, with millions from across India and around the world arriving daily to seek divine blessings through the sacred dip.
The Maha Kumbh Mela, recognized as the world’s largest religious gathering, commenced on 13th January and the first Amrit Snan took place on Makar Sankranti on 14th January. More than 36 crore devotees have taken the holy dip so far.
The Maha Kumbh 2025, which commenced on January 13, will continue until February 26. The event has already attracted millions of devotees from across the country and around the world and is expected to set new records for attendance and participation.
