In Madhya Pradesh, many prominemt Congress leader, including former union minister Suresh Pachauri on Saturday joined the BJP in Bhopal ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.Along with Pachouri, former Dhar MP and State Congress Vice President Gajendra Singh Rajukhedi, former MLA from Indore Sanjay Shukla, other former MLAs Vishal Patel and Arjun Palia and former Bhopal Congress District President Kailash Mishra also joined the BJP. After joining the BJP, Pachouri said that earlier, Congress wanted to create a classless society, but now this has been completely sidelined by the Party.

These leaders leaving the party before the Lok Sabha elections is being considered a big blow for the Congress. Pachori is counted among the senior and well-established leaders of Congress. On this occasion, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, State President V.D. Sharma and other BJP leaders were present in the programme organised at the State BJP office in Bhopal.
