NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Monday said that Anil Deshmukh will nor resign while the ex-CP, Mumbai Param Bir Singh has moved the Supreme Court seeking an investigation into the allegations made by him against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. Talking to newsmen in New Delhi, Pawar said that Anil Deshmukh was ailing and in hospital at the time he was allegedly discussing a Rs 100 crore extortion racket with police officers.Pawar said Anil Deshmukh was in hospital from February 5 to 15. From February 15 to 27, he was in home isolation in Nagpur, he added. "We will share all these records with the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The question of resignation does not arise now," added Pawar.
Param Bir Singh has also sought a CBI probe into the report submitted by Rashmi Shukla, which alleged wrongdoings in transfers and postings. Param Bir has also requested for the collection of CCTV footage of Anil Deshmukh's residence in Mumbai to corroborate with the charges he has levelled.The BJP's Amit Malviya tweeted: "Sharad Pawar claims Anil Deshmukh was in hospital from 5-15 Feb and in quarantine from 16-27 Feb. But Anil Deshmukh was holding a press conference on 15 February. How lies fall flat!"

Meanwhile union minister Ramdas Athawale has demanded President's rule in Maharashtra. He has written a letter to the home minister Amit Shah in this regard.
