External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on Wednesday held talks with his Tajik counterpart Sirojiddin Muhriddin in Dushanbe on all aspects of the bilateral agenda, including development cooperation. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of interest. Both leaders agreed to focus on further enhancing the economic partnership.In his press statement, Dr Jaishankar said, Foreign Minister Sirojiddin and he shared a common view that while the bilateral strategic relations have grown and expanded over the years, there is potential for further strengthening the economic cooperation. He said, both countries will encourage the business community, the Chambers and trade bodies on both sides to engage more intensively with each other while the governments will continue to play a facilitating role. He said, development cooperation has also become an important pillar of India-Tajikistan bilateral relationship. Dr Jaishankar said, a number of projects have been successfully commissioned over the years in Tajikistan under Indian grant assistance.
-CSIR’s Bengaluru based research lab National Aerospace Laboratories rolled out a two seater trainer aircraft HANSA-NG that is developed by it. HANSA-New Generation swadeshi trainer aircraft is retro-modified with a glass cockpit, bubble canopy design, IFR compliant avionics with smart multi-functional displays, efficient digitally controlled Rotax 912 ISC engine that gives the aircraft superior performance, range and endurance. A MOU was signed today between NAL and Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Academy to purchase five HANSA NG aircraft on this occasion. The Director of NAL Jitendra J Jadhav informed that they have received Letter of Intent from various flying schools across the country to purchase 30 HANSA- NG trainer aircraft.Speaking on the occasion, the Director General of CSIR Dr. Shekhar C Mandi hoped that the other projects of NAL to develop a 19 seater SARAS aircraft and 100 seater Regional Transport Aircraft will fructify at an earliest to make India Atmanirbhar in the Civil Aviation sector. HAL CMD R Madhavan, DG DGCA G Rajasekar, senior officers from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and representatives of various flying schools were present on this occasion.
-The cabinet has approved an investment of Rs 10,900 crore in the food processing industry under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. The objective of Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Food Processing Industry (PLISFPI) is to support creation of global food manufacturing champions commensurate with India's natural resource endowment and support Indian brands of food products in the international markets.The Scheme will be implemented over a six year period from 2021-22 to 2026-27. The scheme would facilitate expansion of processing capacity to generate processed food output of Rs 33,494 crore and create employment for nearly 2.5 lakh persons by the year 2026-27. This was announced in New Delhi by the Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar and the Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday after cabinet meeting.
- India’s healthcare industry is expected to reach 372 billion dollar in 2022. The country’s healthcare sector has grown rapidly over the last five years, at a compound annual growth rate of around 22 per cent. NITI Aayog released a report outlining the range of investment opportunities in various segments of the healthcare sector. This include hospitals, medical devices and equipment, health insurance, telemedicine, home healthcare and medical value travel. Healthcare has become one of the largest sectors of the Indian economy, in terms of both revenue and employment.As per estimates by the National Skill Development Corporation, healthcare can generate 27 lakh additional jobs in India between 2017-22. The report was released by NITI Aayog Member Dr VK Paul, CEO Amitabh Kant and Additional Secretary Dr Rakesh Sarwal.
