India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a fresh spell of heat wave likely to commence over Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh from Thursday. It has predicted severe Heat wave conditions over some parts of West Rajasthan, Punjab, south Haryana and East Rajasthan. IMD said, the maximum temperature will rise by about 3 to 4 degree celsius over many parts of Northwest and East India during the next four days. The weather office has also forecast heatwave conditions over Gujarat, Konkan, Saurashtra and Kutch over the next two days. It has also predicted heat wave conditions over Delhi, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha on 18th and 19th May.The IMD has issued Orange alert for North Interior Karnataka, which is likely to get isolated heavy rainfall on 15th & 16th May.

On the other hand, IMD has said that Southwest Monsoon is likely to advance into the South Andaman Sea, some parts of Southeast Bay of Bengal and Nicobar Islands around Sunday. Light to moderate rainfall is also likely over Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathawada during next two days.
