Former Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi died on Monday night after battling cancer. Sushil Modi had served as the deputy chief minister of Bihar from 2005 to 2013, and again between 2017 and 2020. President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several senior leaders condoled the death of the BJP leader.
BJP national president JP Nadda also posted on X and said that Sushil Modi's entire life was dedicated to Bihar. The last rites of the former Rajya Sabha MP will be performed later in the day. On April 3, this year, Sushil Modi revealed he was suffering from cancer and requested the BJP to relieve him of assignments related to the Lok Sabha elections.Sushil Modi held various positions in his three-decade-long political career. He served as MLA, MLC and member of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The RSS also expressed their condolences to the leader's family and prayed to God to give them strength to bear the grief and grant salvation to the departed soul.
