The Army leaders from the 24 nations belonging to the Indo-Pacific region gathered in Dhaka for the Indo-Pacific Armies Management Seminar (IPAMS) have given a message of unity and collective commitment. They also expressed concerns about the security and prosperity of the world’s most consequential region. Charles A Flynn said in the closing ceremony of the IPAMS that the fact that 24 nations came together to share ideas, build relationships, and even express concerns about the security and prosperity of the world’s most consequential region, sends a powerful message of unity and collective commitment.Bangladesh Army Chief Gen. Shafiuddin said in his closing remarks that our journey to peace does not end here. It is just the beginning. He expressed the hope that the friendship of Bangladesh with other countries will increase through the seminar. The IPAMS was hosted between Sept 12-15 by Bangladesh this year. The theme of this year’s conference was ‘Prospects and Challenges in Maintaining Peace and Security in the Indo-Pacific’.The 46th IPAMS held three plenary sessions focusing on robust peacekeeping, women empowerment, and land power in regional cooperation with distinguished guest speakers and discussions on the challenges and ways forward.The 47th iteration of IPAMS will take place in India, where it will share the stage with the bi-annual Indo-Pacific Army Chiefs Conference..
