The alert Assam police have foiled an attempt of Bangladeshi nationals who tried to infiltrate into Indian territory. On Wednesday, the police on duty have apprehended five Bangladeshi nationals. They were identified as Mrs. Afroja Jahirul Sardar, Ms. Tumpa Haque, Ridoy Sk, Mrs. Akhi Sk and Ms. Lakhipur Akhtar. Later they were pushed back in wee hours.Assam shares approximately 263 kilometers of international border with Bangladesh.The border stretches across several districts of Assam, including- Dhubri, South Salmara-Mankachar, Goalpara and Cachar.

Meanwhile, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Assam Police are maintaining a constant vigil along the Indo-Bangladesh border following continued bid of infiltrators trying to enter Assam's territory. The Government has instructed Border guards to remain on maximum alert following recent political disturbances in the neighbouring country.The Assam-Bangladesh border is a sensitive area, with concerns related to illegal migration, smuggling, and border security. The Indian government has taken various measures to strengthen border security and prevent illegal activities along this border.
