Prices of mustard oil will be coming down by February

NITI Aayog CEO, Amitabh Kant has said that India’s real estate sector is expected to reach a market size of 1 trillion dollars and contribute 18-20 percent of the country’s GDP by 2030. Addressing the 13th Edition of Confederation of Indian Industry - CII Realty and Infrastructure Conclave 2021 in Mumbai,  Kant on Friday said housing sales are recovering, buoyant by the decade low mortgage rates. He added that the Smart City Project, which aims to build 100 smart cities, is a prime opportunity for real estate companies. Kant said the realty sector and its stakeholders also play a critical role in supporting the ‘housing for all’ initiative taken by the government. Accepting that the past 18 months have been challenging,  Kant said the Atmanirbhar Bharat Package 3.0 that provides tax relief for real estate developers and home buyers and the setting up of Alternative investment Fund, Affordable Housing Fund and National Housing Bank with an initial corpus of 35,000 crore rupees is likely to revive the sector in coming months. He added that the Real Estate Investment Trust Platform, as approved by Securities and Exchange Board of India, will create opportunities worth 1.25 trillion rupees in coming years.

-Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that, since the city of Nagpur is a place of zero mile and is at  the heart of the country, it has the full potential of becoming a logistics capital. He was speaking in Nagpur, on the occasion of the memorandum of understanding (MoU)  signing ceremony  between the National Highways Authority and Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) today  for  setting  up a multi-modal logistics park at Dryport in  Wardha district's Sindhi (Railway).Through this multi-model park, worldwide export opportunities will be  made available from the Sindhi (Railway) Dry Port of Wardha. Mr. Gadkari also expected that the park would provide employment opportunities to 50,000 people in the next five years.  For this project, the National Highways Authority has established  National Highway Logistics Management Limited (NHLML),a  Special Purpose Vehicle- and  JNPT will start working with this S.P.V.  Gadkari said that  the multi-modal logistics park would help in reducing the  logistic cost  for exports in the country.

-In Manipur, the Chief Minister N. Biren Singh led State continues organizing Go to Hills 2.0 event which aims to deliver the benefits of government schemes at the doorsteps of its beneficiaries. A Go to Hills 2.0 event was held on Friday in Kangpokpi district of Manipur in which Biren inaugurated a Primary Health Sub Centre constructed at Langka village and distributed assistance given under various welfare schemes to the selected beneficiaries. The Chief Minister also distributed PMJAY Ayushman Bharat Cards, widow and old aged cards, agricultural equipment, educational kits etc to the beneficiaries.Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said that the state government would not tolerate any act of suppression by one community over another and continued that inclusive development would only be possible only when different communities residing in the State have respect for one another. The Chief Minister also stated various infrastructure developmental projects had been taken up in the district in the last four and half years including construction of seven bridges amounting to Rs. 189 crore, Women’s Market, three Sadbhavna Mandaps, Transit accommodation for Teachers and Doctors etc.

-Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to relook into the matter of extending area of operation of BSF and restore the status quo that existed before the notification of October 11, 2021, so as to enable the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Punjab Police to work together against the anti-national forces for safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India. Notably the Union Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a notification on October 11, 2021 extending the jurisdiction of BSF from 15 kilometres to 50 kilometres areas along the international borders in the States of Punjab, Assam and West Bengal. In a letter to the Prime Minister, Channi apprised that the BSF is trained to perform their primary duty of guarding and securing the international border and to act as the first line of defence. He mentioned that Policing in the hinterland is the duty and responsibility of the State police. Moreover, the Punjab Police is a professional force fully competent to handle any law & order situation within the State. The Chief Minister revealed that Punjab Police deals with terrorism effectively in the past, which would not have been possible without effective coordination between Punjab Police and Central agencies. He said joint operations have been conducted successfully against drug traffickers and terrorist modules because of excellent coordination between BSF and Punjab Police in the recent past.

-Secretary, Department of Food and  Public Distribution Sudhanshu Pandey said, Production of mustard oil has increased around 10 lakh metric ton. He said the prices of mustard oil will be coming down by February. Speaking to reporters, Pandey said, due to labour problems in Indonesia, Malaysia there have been rise in international crude prices. He said, price of palm oil rising in international market, but reducing in India. Saying on initiatives by the Centre to ease prices of essential commodities and bring relief to consumers, Pandey highlighted that Intervention of Central government  along with state government cooling down commodity prices is much faster than other countries. He said, onion prices are less and there is not a scenario of restricting onion exports. Pandey said centre is  offering states onion at 26 rupees per kilogram.
