Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh has said that India is fast emerging as World Space Hub for cost-effective launch of satellites. Speaking at the India Leads-2021 Summit organized by FICCI in New Delhi, he said, India has earned worldwide recognition for launching lunar probes, building satellites and ferrying foreign satellites. Dr Singh said, over the past few years, Space Industry is emerging as one of the most lucrative industries globally and demand for Nano, micro and mini satellites and re-usable and small satellite launch vehicle systems are anticipated to drive the market.He said, ISRO has forged a strong relationship with many industrial enterprises, both in the public and private sector, to implement its space projects.
-In Bihar 14 children have so far died due to prevailing viral fever among kids across the state.Sanjay Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of health department said at least six thousand eight hundred such cases have so far reported this month at different government hospitals in the state.113 children were admitted to different hospitals and the rest prescribed medicines. Singh said most of the children return home after check - up in the OPD and take prescribed medicines at home.None of the children visiting the OPD of government hospital with complaint of viral fever has far been tested positive for Covid-19. Meanwhile health minister Mangal Pandey said doctors have been instructed to take precaution during treatment of children suffering from viral fever.
-A day after Delhi Police arrested a Dharavi resident, along with five others for allegedly planning terrorist activities, Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad - ATS have denied any lapse in surveillance. Addressing a press conference in Mumbai on Wednesday, Maharashtra ATS Chief Vineet Agarwal said the arrested person is a history sheeter named Jaan Mohammed Shaikh. He said that the accused was on their radar for his suspected links with Dawood Ibrahim or the D-company. However, the ATS Chief reiterated that Mumbai as well as Maharashtra is safe as no explosive or any weapon was found from Jaan Mohammed’s possession. He said that the suspect was travelling from Mumbai to Delhi when Delhi Police apprehended him at Kota in Rajasthan.Replying to questions as to why the state ATS was not informed about the arrest and why intelligence regarding the terrorist attack was not shared, Agarwal said there is still no clarity on the same and a team of Maharashtra ATS will be going to Delhi to get the case details and interrogate Jaan Mohammed. He said the exact nature of conspiracy is yet to be known.
-Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Wednesday virtually flagged off the first SpiceJet flight from Visakhapatnam to Mumbai. Speaking on the occasion, he said, this will open up the potential for employment, tourism, better connectivity for students. It will further act as an economic multiplier for Visakhapatnam. Scindia said, better aerial connectivity is being pushed to the hinterlands of India through the policy of UDAN - Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik. He further added that as on date, Visakhapatnam is now connected with 10 cities with 302 aircraft movements.The Minister said, in a short span of seven years, the number of airports in the country have gone up from 60 in 2016 to 136 in 2021.
-Uttar Pradesh government will send a new team of 5 experts and 10 doctors to Firozabad where more than 5 dozen people have lost their lives due to fever and dengue in last one month.Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the new team of doctors and experts to reach immediately and camp for one week in the district and monitor the patients.Many teams of doctors and experts from Central and state governments are already camping in the district where 61 people including many children have died due to fever and dengue.
